Midwinter Tree

Light in
dark winter.
You have your
other questions.
My answers
might not fit.
My eyes
see other pictures,
some things
you may not see.

Many words spoken,
given,
not as gifts.
Words have wounded
many,
healed so few.

Be careful,
she said.
Don’t use
your words
as weapons.
Weapons have
no beauty.
And so
I understood.
Words should
be music,
poetry beautiful.
So much beauty,
such light.
