Summer Joy

I’m looking out
a window,
on a summer afternoon.
A tree
lit by sunshine,
invites
little birds.
I have no wings.

Beauty is wherever
we see it.
We see a hill
across the valley,
but it does not
invite us.
Sunshine adds
little joy.

Birdsong warms
our hearts,
so joy is rescued,
saving the day.
That tree,
full of birdsong,
makes it
all possible.

      1. We were formed to walk, this is why He ordered our paths, yet the soaring bird in flight He gave, so man could make his own birds to pilot and fly..
