Lupines

Lupines

wildflowers
   on a
hillside,
      more
   exotic
than any
garden's
   best

   lupines
so often
   buggy,
aphids seem
      to love
   the wild
      flavour
and we can't
always help

      secrets
   often go
to the grave,
and we hope
wildflowers
won't tell,
      but i
   think i'd
   like a
       taste,
actually

  1. A vibrant blue, what a beautiful colour. Thank goodness for harsh lashing rains out in the wild, there the aphid stands no chance. And it is no secret I believe they do too prefer nasturtium, roses and members of the cabbage and nightshade family, including tomatoes and peppers. That was just by the way. πŸ˜‹
Lupines make the woods look more beautiful….exotic as the poet says, at their best.
