Screened In Porch

Screened In Porch

days flow past,
   as mosquitoes
hum around

   at night
you hear
   predatory
      droning

   darkness
      conceals
bloodthirsty
hunters

   irritation
banishes sleep
as breathing
      attracts
evil

      i want light,
   a chance to
hunt the hunters
   flying leeches!

light's not
   enough,
when sight
is failing.

   it takes
some study
   to locate
      and slap
to silence
these monsters
   of the night

  1. Lol, torture, torturous but lovely with the funny bursting through the poetry.

I know how these leeches can disturb the sounds at sights of a wonderful evening, just at twilight.

  2. Well done….I crashed myself especially for the last part. I’m really happy to know that I’m not the only one who sit watch and wait for the leech to mount another attack.
