Creek Mouth

Creek Mouth

   down from
the hills,
   every drop,
   now joined
together

   a lake,
with secrets
      in the
beautiful
   water,
it is said

      colour
makes things
   distinct,
when tones
won't help

black and white
      will do.
gray tones,
   made of
   silver,
   in days
we've almost
   forgotten.

   so much,
   forgotten,
from days
      gone by

There are deep contrasting tones of black and white with the dark almost sombre grey. I think it fits in very well with composition of the poetry, it compliments the reflective wording and decision to refrain from reciting colour. The mouth is dark and it speaks to the very last drop that came to join at the Creek. It’s a pensive atmosphere , filled with thoughtfulness.
