Thistle

Thistle

   prehistoric
sea monsters?
      no big deal

   fear of falling
(drives people to
      skydiving)

   so little
intimidates
      him

but thoughts
      of trying
to get close
to her seems
   a little scary.

   we watch
and we say
   it is all
   in his mind

(she's so like
   a rose,
   it may pay
to move
with caution.)

   a prickly
defense is
   an obvious
   sign of
   notable
      danger

  1. Oh the Thistle is back in the garden of poetry again. This make me smile for all the shades of reason. The Russian, I gather you handled him well.

Lol, this is so funny and I can almost imagine the smile and laughter after finally penning it. These lines surely sent me bouncing like a laughing ball….Oh dear, the years do roll in.

Hmmmm, scary? …. surely the two minds find their harmony and balance….and at times synchronize.
There must be a beautiful commitment for the way it is.

I just love the playfulness and the faithfulness in the poetry.
