Maltese Panorama

all those tourists
with their phones
and real cameras,

standing in my way,
as I too, try to make
a memory shot,

for when I get home
and can't remember,
what i saw, any more.

such feeble creatures,
we fail to understand,

what our imperfect eyes
can see, but not remember,
eyes don't do that!

we are lost in paradise,
wandering cheerful,

sometimes fearful,

we stumble in daylight,
fall down in dark night.

feeble as we are,
we do have choices,
and little understanding.

because our futures
are shrouded by time's
great fog bank.

but i look at my photos
and remember a little
more of where i was

(and how annoying
all those other tourists
were).
