Crocuses Spring Up

we feel the icy winds.
      as snow blankets
   everything in sight.

   bright lights drive
dark secrets from
      our chilly world.

days begin to grow
   noticeably longer
soon after solstice.

      then warmth will
radiate from on high.

it has always been
      as long as any
      can remember

we might know what
   we need to move

confidently into
      our safe future

soon after snowmelt,
   crocuses spring up.

waking springtime,
      a season of joy
   and excitement.

We are just past the winter solstice and expect to see less darkness and more light. Life has been good and we are excited to see what adventures are just ahead.
